"Jʹhabite les Grottes, jʹhabite Grancy...". That's the kind of answer weʹre sometimes given to the question "Where do you live? ". Naming your neighborhood, rather than your city, is a way of marking your attachment to a territory, a feeling of belonging that is almost identity-based. What does it mean to live in a neighborhood in a French-speaking city in 2019? Why are we "proud" of our neighborhood? How does a neighborhood define us?
