Growing old is devalued today in our society, which extols dynamism. Finding a job at 50 is extremely complicated. At 80, we are spoken to as if we were children. You have to stay young at all costs, even if it means denying the hazards of aging. Because, according to the naysayers, getting old is just a matter of losing your mental capacity, losing your memory, losing your flexibility. But what are the consequences of these prejudices on mental health? What does it mean to grow old in a society that glorifies youth? How can we age serenely in such a context?
