Experiments on primates to make paraplegics walk again

Allowing paraplegics to regain the use of their legs is the goal of Grégoire Courtine, professor of neuroscience at EPFL. Having succeeded in making paralyzed rats walk again by implanting an electrode on their spinal cord, the researcher and his team are about to test this technology on human beings. But before moving on to human beings, the research will involve monkeys.
