Dioxin pollution: the big smoke and mirrors?

Substances created during the combustion of plastics in particular, dioxins are a highly toxic and persistent soil pollutant. They take several decades to disappear. They are mainly found around household waste incinerators. Present in the earth up to 80 centimetres below the surface, they contaminate vegetable gardens and animals that consume food from the ground.
