The awakening of Anak Krakatoa: an avoidable catastrophe?

Many months before the collapse of the summit of Anak Krakatoa, this volcano was producing warning signals. An international research team collected as much data as possible from ground sensors, satellites and drones. This natural disaster triggered a tsunami that killed 430 people on the Indonesian coast between Java and Sumatra.
