200 million years ago, at the boundary between the Triassic and Jurassic periods, around 60% of the Earth's species disappeared. Specialists suspected that volcanic activity and its CO2 emissions were responsible for this environmental catastrophe. Researchers at the University of Geneva (Unige) have now validated this thesis.
