The Mediterranean is a space of commonalities and conflicts. Before the Middle Ages, this crossroads of peoples and civilizations was invented, with its trade routes and historic naval battles. But no two people meet without being transformed. It's also a liquid territory where interactions between Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Egyptians and Carthaginians shape societies and their geopolitics.
