Without plate tectonics, there are no mountains. An adage that could single-handedly sum up all of geology. But if mountains are continually undergoing bottom movements, they are also the object of surface movements, such as erosion. To predict their evolution there is a fairly recent method that studies the interactions between tectonics, climate and erosion.
