"Folds through time": Discovering the pioneers of the dʹor age of Alpine geology

Who in Switzerland hasnʹt looked over the horizon and wondered how such high mountains could have risen from the earth? This question has tickled geologists for more than two centuries. A veritable "Golden Age of Alpine geology", the period from 1780 to 1934 is the subject of an exhibition at the University of Geneva entitled "Folds through Time: Pioneering Views of the Alps"
