Radioactive old watches: what are the dangers?

In June 2014, the public learned of the discovery of radium-contaminated sites in the Jura Arc. Radium was used until the 1960s by the watchmaking industry, for luminescent hands. However, no one seems to be concerned about the impact of these watches on the health of their wearers.
