A neuroprosthesis restores walking in a Parkinson's patient

Neuroscientists from lʹEPFL, CHUV, UNIL, lʹInserm and lʹUniversité de Bordeaux have created a neuroprosthesis capable of correcting the walking disorders that develop during dʹune maladie de Parkinson. In a study published in "Nature Medicine", they explain how their spinal cord stimulation system enabled a first patient studied and suffering from the disease to walk again fluidly and without falls.
