Is it a myth that languages help build national cohesion?

Some 126 different languages are spoken in Switzerland. This is the finding of a study on linguistic and cultural diversity. Some 43,000 young people aged around 20 were asked about their relationship with languages. As the authors of the study point out, this is the first time that such a database on the subject has been available.
