A school in tune with society

For the first time, a team of 25 historians from all over Switzerland has examined the content of school textbooks for Swiss children, from the creation of compulsory schooling in the 1830s to the present day. What emerges is that what makes up the core of todayʹs education (French, mathematics, national and foreign languages, general culture and the arts) has only gradually been integrated into the curriculum.
