When we look at the evolution of sexual mores throughout history, we can be struck by the importance of certain periods. From the 16th century onwards in particular, with the Reformation and Counter-Reformation, we witness profound transformations. The place of marriage played a central role. Contraceptive practices begin to spread first in the Reformed cantons.
