A history of the press: freedom in Switzerland and elsewhere

From loose sheets to large conglomerates, from hawkers to web first, information has taken many forms. Subjected to the vagaries of the political regimes it describes and analyzes, the press and its professions go through crises but persist and sign. Between advertising revenue and licence fees, paper and broadcasting are questioning their future.
