"While it could still boast a surprising wealth of titles just thirty years ago, French-speaking Switzerland is now on the verge of seeing its press disappear. On the one hand, the outline of a general evolution helps to reframe questions, and suggest new ones. On the other hand, at a time when the written press is going through a period of deep turmoil, even an existential crisis if the most pessimistic spirits are to be believed, it's not useless to understand how we got to this point, by taking a wide view and considering a broad perspective.
