Free public transport in Geneva will cost more than expected

The canton of Geneva had budgeted 32 million francs to cover season tickets for young people and seniors. But demand is such at the halfway point that this amount will not be enough, RTS revealed on Monday. The total bill could almost double by the end of the year. Network ridership growth, meanwhile, remains modest.
