A femtosecond laser in glass that fits in the palm of your hand

Creating a femtosecond laser entirely out of glass? Itʹs possible, and itʹs a team of scientists from the Galatea Laboratory at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne who have achieved this feat. This small laser, which is about the size of a credit card, is made from a sheet of glass and a "classic" femtosecond laser on the market.
