An inventory of endangered micro-organisms

Scientists at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne have carried out an inventory of the microorganisms that live in cryospheric ecosystems. They discovered that they possess a unique genetic signature. They have compiled this information into a database that will be a useful resource for future studies on the microbiology of climate change.
