The number of twin and triplet pregnancies in Switzerland has fallen by more than half since 2017, according to the Swiss Society for Reproductive Medicine. This is said to be a consequence of the Medically Assisted Reproduction Act that came into force that year. This law has also helped to reduce premature births, which are common in multiple pregnancies, and thus reduce risks to both mothers' and children's health.
