Esotericism on the rise

Esotericism (from the ancient Greek esôteros, "inner") is the teaching of secret doctrines reserved for initiates. The term, whose meaning differs markedly from one era and author to another, is sometimes used in popular culture to refer to fringe currents of thought with a secret or strange component.
