South Africa, the challenges of an unfinished reconciliation - Apartheid or "living apart"?

Légende

"Apartheid" (living apart), is a term that took root in South Africa with the arrival of French Huguenots in the Dutch colony of Cape Town at the end of the 17th century. Territorial segregation in South Africa was to be established and become systematic: separation of public space and the nationwide creation of territories reserved for the black population, the "homelands" or "bantustans".
