French-speaking missionaries in Southern Africa

"Behind the mission boxes": itʹs an exhibition and a book, at lʹEspace Arlaud in Lausanne, until November 17, 2019, that spares us a plunge into southern Africa, the target of French-speaking missionaries from the end of the 19th century until the 1970s. There, they founded hospitals, schools, translated the Bible, redrew territories and went butterfly hunting... But of course, itʹs much more complicated than that!
