What is "cancel culture"?

Have you ever heard of "cancel culture"? A form of "cancellation", this expression originated in the United States and has no precise translation in French. From the unbolting of statues to calls for the boycott of celebrities on social networks, such as Harry Potter author J.K Rowling, the cases in which the term "cancel culture" has been brandished are numerous and give the impression of a catch-all expression.
