Anti-speciesism, the new civil disobedience?

What if antispeciesism were a new field in which resistance and opposition to the law are organized, this refusal referred to since the 19th century by the expression "civil disobedience"? What is the relationship between this militancy and previous civil disobedience movements, from Henry-David Thoreau to Martin Luther King and Gandhi?
