Iran, a tumultuous history 1/2 - Relations between Switzerland and Iran

The relationship between Switzerland and Iran is unusual, to say the least. Historically, they were forged mainly in the 19th century for commercial reasons. In the twentieth century, the Shah regularly visited Switzerland after completing part of his studies there. Finally, since the Iranian revolution, Switzerland has played the role of intermediary between Iran and the United States.
