Années folles, x-ray of a myth we love

The 1920s, when the end of the war was a relief, and energy seemed to be returning to a humanity that had been deeply wounded. Yet in 1922, Benito Mussolini established a dictatorship in Italy after the coup de force of the March on Rome, while Adolf Hitler founded the Nazi Party in Germany and came to power in 1933. In the Roaring Twenties, Nazism and Fascism knew how to embrace what suited them and reject what opposed their plans for society. Through their rhetoric and their bodies, they embodied two programs that paved the way for future wars.
