Me Angèle, asylum seeker, sent back to Italy
Légende
She left her West African country a year ago, crossed the Sahara, the Mediterranean and Italy to apply for asylum in Switzerland. But as her fingerprints had been recorded in Sardinia, Angèle was declared a "Dublin NEM". According to the cardinal principle of the Dublin agreements, of which Switzerland is a signatory, an applicant can only submit an admissible asylum application in the country through which he or she entered Europe. Angèle must therefore return to Italy, and Switzerland can force her to do so. What is waiting for her in this country? What is the purpose of the Dublin system? What is it like for the "dublinés" on a daily basis?
