Will the Alps soon collapse?

In June, 1.2 million cubic metres of rock tumbled out of the Graubunden Alps and came to rest just a few dozen metres from the first buildings in Brienz. It happened again at the end of July. In September, a 25-metre crack formed in the ceiling of the Gotthard road tunnel.
