When Lake Geneva loses 13 degrees in three days

The water temperature in the Rhône, just off Lake Geneva, has dropped by over 13 degrees in three days, much to the annoyance of bathers. This curious phenomenon is totally explainable, normal and relatively frequent. The cause: the wind.
