Titicaca, the lake is dying of thirst
Légende
Is the famous Lake Titicaca disappearing? This immense freshwater reserve, located at an altitude of 3,800 metres between Peru and Bolivia, is at its lowest level in seventy years. Scientists believe that this catastrophe is due to an unusual shortfall in rainfall, exacerbated by deforestation in the Amazon. Bolivians living on the lake's shores are also having to cope with increasing water pollution, and are being forced to emigrate en masse to the capital, La Paz.
