Extreme drought dries up many Amazon rivers

Since September, northwestern Brazil has been affected by one of the most intense dry seasons in its history. The Rio Negro, a tributary of the famous Amazon River, is losing ten centimetres every day. It has reached its lowest level in 120 years.
