Sequoias don't do well in the Swiss climate
Légende
The redwoods in Switzerland are not doing well due to a fungus that dries out their branches. Repeated heatwaves in recent years have caused the phenomenon to explode. Most specimens in the cantons of Geneva and Neuchâtel are affected by ecore canker. In their natural habitat, they can live up to 3,000 years. In Switzerland, they reach the end of their life after about a century, which is not a catastrophe for local biodiversity, since redwoods are a species artificially imported at the end of the 19th century.
