What is evil?

Evil turns our lives and societies upside down. Why Auschwitz or the horror of war? Itʹs less the evil that disrupts our lives than its why? Its most varied forms have one thing in common: evil is not something, it presents itself as a fracture within what is, a parasite existing only through the good it gnaws away.
