Cystic fibrosis affects more than 700,000 people worldwide. In Switzerland, itʹs one of the most common genetic diseases. A treatment, available since 2020, has greatly improved the lives of sufferers, without eliminating the bacteria responsible for the lʹinfection. Scientists at the University of Geneva have discovered how the bacteria get to the surface of the respiratory tract despite this drug.
