A third arm controlled by breathing

EPFL researchers have demonstrated the possibility of controlling a third arm through breathing. Participants in a study published in Science Robotics, equipped with a belt measuring diaphragm movements, were able to manipulate a robotic or virtual arm synchronized with their biological limbs. This advance opens up prospects for the augmented body and neurorehabilitation.
