Switzerland embarks on polar exploration

Several universities and a publisher create the Swiss Polar Institute. Its first project is the Antarctic Circumnavigation Expedition. From December 2016 to March 2017, scientific teams will be on board a Russian research vessel for an unprecedented expedition around Antarctica.
