The Circumnavigation around Antarctica (ACE) expedition makes a stopover on Siple Volcano Island, on the edge of the white continent. The scientists, who have been hard at work for weeks, enjoy a moving encounter with the Adélie penguins. The colony that lives on the slopes of the volcano, close to the water, is estimated at between 5,000 and 20,000 individuals. Unaccustomed to humans, they don't seem frightened by our presence
