Swiss Radio International: the voice of the Swiss or of Switzerland?

Propaganda on the airwaves clashes with the image of a neutral Switzerland! Yet on the eve of the Second World War, this powerful means of communication was to be put to work for the government and its cultural policy project: spiritual national defense. To this end, the SSR created the Swiss shortwave service, which later became Swiss Radio International, and then Swissinfo, to strengthen ties with expatriates and promote Switzerland's cultural influence abroad.
Swissinfo is the first Swiss radio station to be broadcast in Switzerland
