Sexism in the hospital, a chronic disease?

The world of healthcare is overwhelmingly female: orderlies, nurses, doctors, women are increasingly healing, auscultating and operating. Yet, in the hospital environment, few women reach positions of responsibility. According to the latest figures from the FMH, while nearly 60% of hospital doctors are female assistants, only 12% are female chief physicians.
