Radioactive waste, storage sites

The Swiss have given nuclear power plants a reprieve by rejecting the Greens' initiative. But this vote reopens the question of how to manage the 75 tonnes of radioactive waste produced in Switzerland every year. At present, it is being transported to Würenlingen in the canton of Aargau, pending the construction of deep geological repositories.

The issue of the management of radioactive waste in Switzerland has been raised again
