Poland: the controversial law on public media

The European Commission is to examine the situation prevailing in Warsaw with regard to the rule of law. Two highly controversial laws, the one restricting the powers of the Constitutional Court, but above all the one placing public broadcasting under direct government control, are of great concern to Brussels.
