A painting by Caravaggio, lost for two centuries, saved in extremis from oblivion

Wrongly attributed to a little-known painter, it had almost been put up for auction in 2021 for 1,500 euros. Finally authenticated, and fully restored, Caravaggio's painting "Ecce Homo" is on display for a few months at Madrid's Prado museum.
