The Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded, to Anne LʹHuillier (France/Sweden), Pierre Agostini (France) and Ferenc Krausz (Hungary/Austria). The three researchers are being honoured for their work on the physics of the lʹattosecond*, which has enabled the development of powerful, fast lasers capable of filming electrons in action in an atom.
