New fossiliferous site of worldwide importance discovered in southern France
Légende
Sylvie Monceret-Goujon and Eric Monceret, a couple with a passion for paleontology, have discovered an exceptional fossil site in the south of France. Located in the Montagne Noire, in the department of lʹHérault, this deposit of over 400 fossils dates back 470 million years. Scientists from the University of Lausanne's Faculty of Geosciences and the Environment have collaborated with the CNRS and international teams to carry out the first analyses of this deposit, known as the "Biote de Cabrières".
