The water on Mars dates back 4.45 billion years

By analyzing the composition of a Martian meteorite, scientists from the University of Lausanne, in collaboration with colleagues from Curtin University and the University of Adelaide in Australia, have dated traces of water in the crust of Mars back to 4.45 billion years ago. In other words, at the very beginning of the Red Planet's formation.
