Live observation of the formation of 11-billion-year-old galaxies

The Universe is a laboratory for going back in time. The further away a star is, the longer it takes for its light to reach us. Thanks to this property, researchers at the University of Geneva have been able to observe the genesis of new galaxies, formed 11 billion years ago!
