A new approach to avalanche risk forecasting

The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) and the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research (WSL) are developing a new model for the triggering of slab avalanches. Ultimately, it should make it possible to improve avalanche risk forecasting.
