Looking after the elderly: an obligation?

Caring for your elders is now an obligation in China: a new law on the subject comes into force this Monday. It obliges families to take human and financial care of their seniors. Will we be forced to reach this point in Switzerland too, to combat the isolation of the elderly in an increasingly individualistic society?
