Knossos Palace

Discovered and excavated as early as 1900 by archaeologist Arthur Evans, Knossos is an important palace on Crete. The rooms of the palace, built on several floors, were so numerous that they covered an area of around 22,000 m2, the equivalent of four soccer pitches.
